CCUS Concrete: Seashell-GGBFS with Recycled Aggregate
研究内容の概要Overview
This study develops CCUS concrete using recycled concrete waste and fully replacing cement with GGBFS and seashells to enhance carbon capture and utilization, mechanical performance, and life cycle sustainability. Combining waste recycling with low-carbon innovation, environmental impacts are assessed via LCA, durability via Carbonation Depth and Rapid Chloride Penetration Tests, and mechanical and microstructural properties via TGA, SEM, and EDS.

This work boosts Japan's leadership in sustainable construction by developing cement-free concrete made from seashells, GGBFS, and recycled aggregates, reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting circular economy practices. It sets technical and policy standards for resilient infrastructure, promotes scalable SDG-aligned solutions globally, and trains future researchers in sustainable materials, structural engineering, and environmental assessment for long-term societal benefits.
